Democratic
Party Senatorial Debate (College
Democrats):
The Southern Illinois University Carbondale College Democrats will be hosting a debate for the Democratic candidates for United States Senate. The debate is the second in the series of The Southern Debate.
"We are honored to be hosting this debate between the candidates for the seat once held by President Barack Obama," Justin Stofferahn, President of the SIUC College Democrats.
The Southern Debate will be held on January 20, 2010 on the campus of SIU. It will be moderate by awarding winning journalist David Yepsen, the director of the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute.
"This debate will cover issues that are important to voters in Illinois. We plan to cover domestic issues and foreign policy in this debate," Vice President of the College Democrats Sam
Nylen.
The Southern Debate is the second debate hosted by the SIU College Democrats, following the Debate for the South for 2004 featuring then Senator Barack Obama and Comptroller Dan Hynes.
Time: Tuesday, January 19, from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
